St. Johnsburg Fire Company, Inc.
"Serving the Residents of the Town of Wheatfield, NY Professionally Since 1926"
The St. Johnsburg Fire Company was established in August of 1926 by some residents of the Town of Wheatfield, NY who saw a need for more fire protection within the town. On August 2nd, 1926, a meeting was held at Krull's Tavern at Niagara Falls Blvd. and Ward Road with then fire chief of the City of North Tonawanda Mr. Charles Doebler who gave insight to the residents on how to form and establish a fire department. On August 9th, 1926, a meeting was held at Krull's again and it was decided to form a new fire company that day with the name St. Johnsburg Fire Company. The St. Johnsburg Fire Company was incorporated on November 9th, 1936. Through the years, our fire company has provided services for fire protection, fire suppression, fire prevention, motor vehicle crashes, emergency medical services and any other calls for help from the public. We also respond to request for mutual aid to any other fire department or agency that requests our assistance. It is our goal to use sound means to acquire all equipment necessary to assist us with providing quality emergency services to our customers and to provide our customers with the most state of the art services and unmatched professionalism at all times.
Our fire company's primary mission is to be a leading emergency services organization. It is our goal to provide and maintain personnel, apparatus and equipment that will mitigate and resolve emergencies that threaten life and property in a safe and efficient manner to our customers. We are constantly striving through our continued training for improvements in the care delivered, the quality of membership, the quality of training and education provided to our responders, patients and members of our community.
We are always looking for new members. We are looking for active fire fighters and New York State certified emergency medical technicians as well. If you are interested in membership but may have some limitations to firefighting or EMS, we are looking for members to assist in the behind the scenes functions of the department as well such as fund raising, fire prevention and assistance in operating our department efficiently.
